Our Impact

Mission Statement

Drift’s Edge Nature Conservancy aims to protect and restore the wetlands, woodlands, and prairie of our 96-acre Green County property while advancing public education and awareness of South-central Wisconsin’s ecology, geology, and native habitats through strategic partnerships and hands-on learning.

Quick Facts

  • 43 acres of poor agricultural land restored to its original wetland state
  • Former cattle feedlot transformed into organic permaculture demonstration site
  • 3.5 miles of hiking trails responsibly cultivated for year-round use
  • Over 600 visitors educated, inspired, and rejuvenated

Fostering the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders

Drift’s Edge is proud to partner with the Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy and Lower Sugar River Watershed Association by serving as a training site for their high school and college interns. We are grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment to environmental stewardship as we continue our work to protect our wetlands from the impacts of development in the Belleville area and restore native plants and prairie to the property.
